Dome of Sulaiman

هي‭ ‬قبة‭ ‬تقع‭ ‬وسط‭ ‬الساحات‭ ‬الشمالية‭ ‬للمسجد‭ ‬الأقصى،‭ ‬الى‭ ‬الجنوب‭ ‬الغربي‭ ‬من‭ ‬باب‭ ‬الملك‭ ‬فيصل‭. ‬ويعتقد‭ ‬أن‭ ‬نشأتها‭ ‬تعود‭ ‬للعصر‭ ‬الأموي‭ ‬لكن‭ ‬بناءها‭ ‬الحالي‭ ‬يعود‭ ‬للعصر‭ ‬الأيوبي‭ ‬حيث‭ ‬تتشابه‭ ‬من‭ ‬حيث‭ ‬البناء‭ ‬والهيكل‭ ‬مع‭ ‬قبة‭ ‬المعراج‭ ‬الأيوبية‭. ‬والبعض‭ ‬ينسب‭ ‬تسميتها‭ ‬بقبة‭ ‬سليمان‭ ‬الى‭ ‬النبي‭ ‬سليمان‭ ‬عليه‭ ‬السلام،‭ ‬بينما‭ ‬يقول‭ ‬البعض‭ ‬أنها‭ ‬سميت‭ ‬نسبة‭ ‬للخليفة‭ ‬الأموي‭ ‬سليمان‭ ‬بن‭ ‬عبد‭ ‬الملك‭.‬

والقبة‭ ‬ثمانية‭ ‬الشكل‭ ‬محمولة‭ ‬على‭ ‬أربعة‭ ‬وعشرين‭ ‬عمودا‭ ‬رخاميا‭ ‬وفي‭ ‬داخلها‭ ‬صخرة‭ ‬يعتقد‭ ‬أنها‭ ‬جزء‭ ‬من‭ ‬صخرة‭ ‬القدس‭ ‬المشرفة‭ ‬وكان‭ ‬يحيط‭ ‬بهذه‭ ‬الصخرة‭ ‬سياج‭ ‬حديدي‭ ‬ولكنه‭ ‬أزيل‭ ‬في‭ ‬وقت‭ ‬لاحق‭. ‬وفي‭ ‬هذه‭ ‬القبة‭ ‬محراب‭ ‬الى‭ ‬الجنوب‭ ‬وباب‭ ‬من‭ ‬الجهة‭ ‬الشمالية‭. ‬تستخدم‭ ‬هذه‭ ‬القبة‭ ‬اليوم‭ ‬مقرا‭ ‬للواعظات‭ ‬داخل‭ ‬المسجد‭ ‬الأقصى‭.‬

ويلاحظ‭ ‬خلف‭ ‬القبة‭ ‬مئذنة‭ ‬الغوانمة‭ ‬التي‭ ‬تقع‭ ‬في‭ ‬الجزء‭ ‬الشمالي‭ ‬الغربي‭ ‬للمسجد‭ ‬الأقصى‭.‬

Suleiman Dome‭ (‬Umayyad/Ayoubi Era‭)‬

This dome is located in the northern part of Al-Aqsa Mosque to the southwest to the King Faisal Gate‭. ‬It is believed that it was‭ ‬first built during the Umayyad era‭. ‬It was rebuilt and renovated during the Ayoubi era since it is similar in characteristics to the Ayoubi Dome of Ascension‭. ‬Some people say it was named in tribute to Prophet Suleiman‭ (‬PBUH‭), ‬while others believe it was‭ ‬named after its original founder‭, ‬the Umayyad Caliph Suleiman bin Abdul Malek‭. ‬The dome is octagonal and based on 24‭ ‬marble columns‭, ‬inside of it a small rock is displayed‭, ‬believed to be piece taken from the Holy Rock of Ascension‭, ‬which is why it was protected by an iron fence in the past‭.‬

The dome has a niche pointing towards the Qibla‭, ‬and a small entrance on the north‭. ‬Today‭, ‬the building is used as headquarters‭ ‬for female preachers in the Jerusalem Waqf Directorate‭.‬
